Memory

I thought I would post a quick update with a video today. If you have looked at the front page of the blog, you’ll see that I’ve got a pair of WIPs listed there. More Agreeably Engaged is a novella, or perhaps a little longer, a simple story about Darcy and Elizabeth putting aside their pride and prejudice soon after the ball. Work is proceeding apace and I estimate release on about the third week of February. The New Mrs. Bennet story is just that. I seem to have a thing for killing off major characters of late, and the victim in this one is Mrs. Bennet. The identity of Mr. Bennet’s new wife, however, will surprise you!

As for the video, I have recently begun to work on a piano solo version of Memory from Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Cats, and thought I’d post a video. If you have heard the song, you know it’s sad, speaking of loneliness and longing. The best versions of it are those that tug against the heart strings. Elaine Paige was the first actress to play Grizabella when it opened in London’s West Side in 1981, though this video was produced in 1998 with most of the original cast. Her version is by far my favorite, as she really gets into the spirit of the character, the heartbreak and anguish of being an outcast. I hope you enjoy!
